We stayed in culebra at mamacitas guest house right above the restaurant and bar. They do not take reservations and the restaurant gets quite crowded in the evenings as it is one of the top recommended eateries in the town. My party of 6 came in around 7 and we waited about 40 minutes for a table. They have a cute bar that we were able to drink and wait at. The restaurant is right next to the canal, with pretty light fixtures and a great vibe. Our server was great as well! It took over an hour for our food to come out. But the setting and weather were so great our wait time was a breeze. I got the salmon filet, for $30 I found the fish to be quite dry. As was our mahi filet. We enjoyed the rice and beans. Our server was personable and made sure to check on us regularly. There are big fish in the canal that they encourage you to feed your leftovers to. It was fun to watch them in the water. The bar seems to get a bit rowdy the later it gets. Overall I enjoyed dinner at mamacitas and I recommend them!

Food was good, we have decided to stick with vegetarian options put of abundance of caution. Service was quick and cordial. There is a small creek right next to the restaurant, which was a pleasant surprise. The only unnerving thing was the waitress was dumping leftover food into the creek, which the fish were eating. Not sure if this is an acceptable practice or not

Shrimp pasta!!! They must have redone this place based on looking at past reviews/photos. It was beautiful. I'm mad I didn't go sooner in my trip. I came late--right at kitchen closing--and they were gracious enough to still serve me. Highly recommend!

Our tour driver recommended this place and we were not disappointed!! This place was so nice and clean! Our server Jasmine was very friendly and helpful with the menu. All servers speak both English and Spanish :) We ordered coconut shrimp, churrasco, red snapper, fresh mahi, and seafood mix. Lots of drinks and delicious food!!! Check them out!!

Great service and the food was worth the travel. Being able to eat with such an amazing view made our night unforgettable. I will definitely go back every time we visit.

This place is fantastic! The view on the water is stunning--you can even see the fish swimming below as you dine. The outdoor ambiance is top-notch, with updated decor and fun music that adds to the lively vibe. The food was delicious, and our waitress was super friendly, offering great local tips on hidden spots where my kids could jump off bridges, stunning beaches, etc. The bartender crafted one of the best freshly squeezed margaritas I've ever had--strong and perfectly balanced. If you're visiting the tiny island of Culebra, this spot is a must-visit! Highly recommend!

On a recent 3-day tour of the Spanish Virgin Islands we anchored offshore of Culebra. On the recommendation of a fellow sailor familiar with the area, we had our group from two catamarans dinghy the crews up the canal to dine at Mamacitas. So glad we did! It's a fun place, and a bit of an adventure to get there. Service was good, even for our large party. We started with a margarita and the "Mamacitas Drink" (rum, juices, guava), both were very good. The table shared several appetizers, including coconut shrimp, grouper bites and croquets jamon (fried ham/cheese balls). The grouper bites and the croquets jamon were so good, we ordered a second round of each of those... deelish! For entrees, the table ordered many different things, the ones we sampled were the red snapper filet, the mahi mahi filet, and the skirt steak. Sides included grilled veggies, fried yucca chips, plantains and salads. All the food was good, special tip of the cap to the red snapper filet, it was the best of the bunch. It was a good dinner, enjoyed by all. The crews were happy that the recommendation turned out to be legit. Really cool thing at night, they turn the dock lights on and a group of huge tarpon fish congregate there and diners toss them food scraps. Probably not the best diet for the fish, but fun to watch! LOL Recommend Mamacitas in Culebra, good food!

My husband and I had such a great experience! The coconut shrimp was amazing! The cocktails were amazing! The staff was very professional and nice. 10/10 recommend!!!

The food here is amazing and the staff are extremely friendly and you can also stay here if you would like they have rooms and it's in a great location not to far from the beaches and other shops and stores to shop at it's also near the ferry if you want to go back to the mainland also the restaurant has outdoor seating where you can eat and watch the fish swim and small boats pass by, overall I would come back for sure the food was extremely tasty and the staff was welcoming and friendly and professional definitely a 10/10. Thank you for such a great birthday dinner and thank you to our server yisaira for giving us such great hospitality at dinner and thank you to the chef for such a tasty meal!

Grouper fingers were Awesome! Great Fresh Food! I ordered the Red Snapper Filet Deserts were Great Too!
